Location: Goudhurst, Kent, with travel across Southern England and occasional UK-wide travel
Contract: Full-time, permanent

The firm is a long-established, family-run property company with roots dating back to 1963. They own and manage a varied portfolio of residential and commercial properties across the UK.

We are looking for a recent graduate to join their close-knit team in Goudhurst, Kent. This is an excellent opportunity to develop practical experience across the property lifecycle while receiving structured support towards RICS chartered status.

Unlike a narrowly defined graduate role, this position offers exposure to estate and asset management, lease advisory, valuation, lettings, acquisitions, disposals, refurbishment, development and compliance. You will work closely with our Property Director and senior decision-makers, taking on meaningful responsibility as your knowledge and confidence develop.

The role

You will help manage a commercial and residential property portfolio so, your work will include:

• Assisting with rent reviews, lease renewals, surrenders and lease re-gears.
• Maintaining lease schedules, tenant records and property information.
• Researching potential acquisitions and supporting property disposals.
• Gathering comparable evidence and market data for appraisals and internal valuations.
• Supporting commercial and residential lettings and sales.
• Liaising with agents, solicitors, architects, planning consultants, contractors and other property professionals.
• Helping negotiate heads of terms and supporting transaction documentation.
• Assisting with refurbishment and redevelopment projects, including specifications, tenders and contractor coordination.
• Monitoring project progress, budgets and health and safety records.
• Supporting planning applications and development work.
• Assisting with dilapidations matters and liaising with external building surveyors.
• Working with residential managing agents to help maintain management and compliance standards.
• Contributing to other property and business initiatives within a small, multidisciplinary team.

About you

You should have:

• A RICS-accredited degree in Real Estate Management, Building Surveying or a related discipline.
• A genuine commitment to completing the RICS APC.
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
• Commercial awareness and an interest in the property market.
• Clear, professional communication skills.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• The confidence to take responsibility for individual tasks while working collaboratively.
• A full UK driving licence.

Previous property experience through an internship, placement year or part-time role would be helpful but is not essential. Familiarity with commercial leases, valuation, planning, construction or project coordination would also be advantageous.
